Contact Ring: Removal

Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM . Remove steering wheel. See STEERING WHEEL . Remove contact ring cover and ground wire screw. Remove mounting screws and contact ring from steering wheel. See Figure.
