12 42 550 Removing and installing/replacing battery positive lead between starter motor and jump start terminal

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Read out fault memory of DME control unit
Switch off ignition
Disconnect BATTERY NEGATIVE LEAD

Unclip cover (1).

Open protective cap.

Unscrew nut (1).

Tightening torque 12 51 4AZ .

Remove cover for fuel injectors.

Unclip battery positive lead (1) from holder (2).

Unscrew nut (1).

Tightening torque 12 41 4AZ .

Detach battery positive lead (2) from starter motor and remove.

NOTE: Check stored fault messages.

Now clear the fault memory.
