Rotation-Rate Sensor DSC III (DSC Sensor): Removal

NOTE: Rotation rate sensor also contains function of transversal acceleration sensor.
  1. Lever out storage box (1) with special tool (00 9 340) and remove. See Fig 1.
  2. Loosen air duct screws (1). See Fig 2.
  3. Pull out fresh-air grill (1) in direction of arrow. See Fig 3.
  4. Disconnect plug connections (1). If necessary, disconnect plug connections on switch for seat heating. Remove fresh-air grill (2). Unclip cigarette lighter (3). See Fig 4.
  5. Remove air duct (2). See Fig 2.
  6. Release screws (1). See Fig 5.
    7. CAUTION: Last clip on front carpet (4) must be unclipped (risk of damage).
  7. Unclip clips (1) on left/right with carpet (3) outwards from center console (2). Pull out carpet (3) towards rear. See Fig 6.
  8. Unfasten screws (1 and 2) left/right for release of cup holder (3). See Fig 7.
  9. Release left/right screws (2). Pull left/right side sections (1) apart and pull out center console (rear) with cup holder (3). See Fig 8.
  10. Release screws (1 and 2). See Fig 9.
  11. Unlock plug connection and detach. See Fig 10.
