65 77 016 Removing and installing airbag control unit (basic/central airbag unit or multiple restraint system)

WARNING: Comply with safety precautions! An incorrect procedure can lead to activation of the airbag and possible injury. Disconnect battery and cover negative pole or terminal. Perform system check after assembly. Refer to BMW (1986-04) .

Z3 Coupe, Z3 Roadster, M Coupe, M Roadster:

Remove center console. Refer to 51 16 200 REMOVING AND INSTALLING ODDMENTS TRAY (Z3 ROADSTER, M ROADSTER, Z3 COUPE, M COUPE) .

Disconnect plug connection.

Release screws (1) and remove airbag control unit.

Installation:

Observe tightening torque, 65 77 1AZ. Refer to 65 77 AIRBAG TRIGGERING CONTROL .
