51 24 004 Adjusting trunk lid lock (Z3 roadster)

Requirement: 

Trunk lid and gaskets must be correctly fitted and adjusted.

If necessary, adjust trunk lid to fit.

Completely screw down detent buffer in left/right trunk lid.

Loosen screws in lower section of trunk lid until it is just still able to move, allowing it to center itself.

The lower section of the trunk lid lock must not scrape against the trunk lid lock.

Adjust lower section of trunk lid lock:

Close trunk lid, holding down the lock button to prevent the trunk lid lock from engaging.

This enables lower section of trunk lid lock to adjust itself correctly.

Open trunk lid.

Tighten screws on lower section of trunk lid lock.

Check adjustment of trunk lid and trunk lid lock, repeating adjustment if necessary.

Unscrew detent buffer until closed trunk lid is flush on left/right detent buffers.
