WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 33 other vehicles, including the 2010 BMW M5, 2009 BMW M5, 2008 BMW M5, 2008 BMW 760Li, and 2007 BMW M5. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The electric auxiliary heater consists of 4 heating cells. Each heating cell contains 4 heating elements. The heating elements are grouped into pairs to form heating chains. A total of 8 heating chains can be selected in 8 heating levels. The regulator for the electric auxiliary heater is secured directly on the heating system heat exchanger with clamps). Regulator and heating system heat exchanger form a single unit.

The following illustrations show:

The heating elements are held in place by a plastic frame and a tensioning spring.
