Repeat interlock
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 21 other vehicles, including the 2006 BMW Z4, 2006 BMW M3, 2006 BMW M Roadster, 2006 BMW M Coupe, and 2006 BMW 550i. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
A repeat lock is provided for each motor to prevent the power-window motors from overheating. The running time for the power-window motor is limited. The motor is switched off for a defined time.
The repeat lock permits at least five complete window movements (OPEN/CLOSE).
The last possible movement is always a closing process.
If something becomes trapped, the repeat lock will not prevent opening.
The anti-trap circuit always reverses the movement of the side window.
The repeat lock is integrated in the door modules or in the body basic module.
