11 15 510 Measuring the internal engine pressure (N55)

Special tools required:

11 9 880 .
81 38 2 201 924.
83 30 0 496 326.

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Follow diagnosis instructions for pressure testing.
Check engine oil level.

NOTE: Create tube 8x13 mm of length 70 mm.

Open oil filler cap.

Insert special tool 11 9 880hand-tight into oil filler neck opening.

Connect low-pressure hose (2) with diagnosis connection of Integrated Measurement Interface Box and tube (1).

Connect tube (1) to special tool 11 9 880 .

Start engine and run at idle speed.

Order number for low-pressure hose:

81 38 2 201 924.

Order number for oil sealing cap:

83 30 0 496 326.

NOTE: The 25 bar sensor may optionally be used.

Open oil filler cap.

Insert special tool 11 9 880hand-tight into oil filler neck opening.

Attach 25 bar pressure sensor (1) to special tool 11 9 880 .

Start engine and run at idle speed.

Order number for oil sealing cap:

83 30 0 496 326.

Different fault patterns as example:

0, 97 Bar Ambient pressure.

0, 95 Bar Engine internal pressure normal.

If the deviation is significantly greater than - 0.04 bar, the engine ventilation system is faulty .

0, 80 Bar Pressure control valve faulty.

If the deviation is significantly greater than +0.04 bar, the engine ventilation system is clogged .

1, 07 Bar Clogged ventilation system, e.g. iced up, contaminated or kinked vent line.
