11 00... Service - engine oil (N63O1)

WARNING: Risk of scalding!
When carrying out repair work on the vehicle always wear oil- and heat-resistant protective gloves incl. forearm protection, face guard and protective apron.

IMPORTANT: Perform engine oil service only when engine is at normal operating temperature (> 70°C engine oil temperature).
Observe the exact engine oil filling capacity.
Overfilling the engine with engine oil will result in engine damage .
Test period and drip-off time (at least 10 minutes) must be adhered to.

Recycling:

Catch and dispose of drained engine oil in a suitable collecting vessel.

Observe country-specific waste disposal regulations.

Release screws (1 and 2).

Turn lid (3) for oil drain plug in direction of arrow and remove.

Turn lid (4) for oil filter housing in direction of arrow and remove.

Open oil drain plug (1) of oil sump and drain engine oil.

Tightening torque. 11 13 1AZ .

Release oil filter cover with special tool 11 9 240 .

Tightening torque 11 42 1AZ .

Installation note:

Renew O-ring and coat with engine oil.

Check identification (1) and fit in correct position.

Renew oil filter element (2) and slide into the oil filter cover.

Oil filter element (2) must snap audibly into place.

Installation note:

Replace sealing ring.

Insert oil drain plug (1) of oil sump and tighten.

Tightening torque 11 13 1AZ .

NOTE: Pour in ENGINE OIL .

Start engine and run at idle speed.

Switch off engine.

Check oil filter cover and drain plug (1) of oil sump for leaks.

Assemble engine.

Recommendation: Checking oil level:

Park vehicle on a horizontal surface
Allow engine to run at operating temperature for three minutes with increased engine speed (approx. 1100 RPM)
Read off oil level in instrument cluster or on control display
Top up engine oil if necessary
