67 31 510 Removing and installing/replacing drive unit for seat cushion tilt adjustment

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Remove driver's or front passenger seat.

  For Manual seat see 52 13 001 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT SEAT, DRIVER'S SIDE (NORMAL/MANUAL) and 52 13 002 REMOVING AND INSTALLING THE FRONT SEAT ON THE PASSENGER'S SIDE (NORMAL/MANUAL) .

  For Electric seat see 52 14 001 REMOVING AND INSTALLING LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT SEAT, DRIVER'S SIDE, (NORMAL/ELECTRIC) and 52 14 002 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT SEAT (NORMAL/ELECTRIC) ON THE PASSENGER'S SIDE FROM LEFT OR RIGHT

• Remove front seat cover  .

  For Manual seat see 52 13 402 REPLACING SEAT COVER FOR DRIVER'S SEAT (NORMAL/MANUAL) and 52 13 403 REPLACING SEAT COVER FOR FRONT PASSENGER SEAT (NORMAL/MANUAL) .

  For Electric seat see 52 14 402 REPLACING SEAT COVER FOR DRIVER'S SEAT (NORMAL/ELECTRIC) and 52 14 403 REPLACING SEAT COVER FOR FRONT PASSENGER SEAT (NORMAL/ELECTRICAL) .

Release screws (1).

Remove cushion shell (2).

Detach spring (1) at seat frame (2).

Remove fuse (1) from shaft (2).

Unscrew nuts (1).

Pull drive with transmission (3) out of seat frame (2) and remove.

Unfasten plug connection (2) and disconnect.

Release screws (3).

Tightening torque 67 31 1AZ .

Remove drive unit for seat cushion tilt adjustment (1).

Replacement: 

INITIALIZE  seat height adjustment drive unit.
