51 41 090 Removing and installing or replacing lighting strip on door trim, front left or right

Necessary preliminary work:
- Remove LED FOR DOOR TRIM LIGHTING at front
IMPORTANT:
Risk of damage!
Exercise caution when handling lighting strip.
Do not strike the fibre-optic conductor against other objects.
Exercise caution when handling lighting strip.
Do not strike the fibre-optic conductor against other objects.
Grind off welding spots (1).
NOTE:
Only grind to base surface of door trim panel (2) so that contact surface is not damaged.
Feed lighting strip out of door trim panel (2).
Remove plastic remnants from contact surface of door trim panel (2).
Installation note:
Plane grind ribs (1) on tabs (2) on both sides.
Shorten front weld pin (3) by dimension (X).
X = 3 mm
Installation note:
Carefully feed lighting strip into door trim panel.
Attach front/back weld pins with lock washer (1).
Attach weld lugs (2) with clamps (3).
Clamps (3) must not rest on plastic reinforcement (4).
Check light strip is fitted correctly, if necessary press down firmer on lock washers (1) and clamps (3).
