11 66 000 Removing and installing/replacing vacuum pump (N20, N26)

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

Release vacuum line (1) from both plug connections and remove.

NOTE: For purposes of clarity, this work step is shown on the engine after it has been removed.

Release positive battery cable (1) from vacuum pump

Release screw and pull off vacuum line (2) of exhaust turbocharger control unit.

Release screws (3) and remove vacuum pump towards rear.

Installation note: 

Check sealing ring (1) for damage and replace if necessary.

Lightly oil sealing ring (1)

Align vacuum pump electric motor (3) to groove (2) on exhaust camshaft.

The vacuum pump can be installed more easily by simultaneously rotating and pressing.

Assemble engine.

Check function of DME.
