11 53 000 Removing and installing or replacing the coolant thermostat (N47)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Drain COOLANT .
Remove clean air pipe . See 13 71 150 REMOVING CLEAN AIR PIPE (N47) or 13 71 150 REMOVING CLEAN AIR PIPE (N47 WITH SCR) .

Disconnect coolant hoses on thermostat.

Release screws (1) on thermostat housing.

Remove thermostat housing (2).

Installation note:

Replace gasket.

Assemble engine.

FILL and bleed cooling system.
