41 14 502 Replacing Rear Left Outer Wheel Arch Section With Reinforcement (Rear Side Panel Removed)

Follow procedure for REPAIR STAGE 3 .

Read contents of BODY, GENERAL .

Spot-weld bonding is used on this vehicle. Observe specific PROCEDURE .

Use only approved SPOT-WELDING APPARATUS  for repairs.

The following new body parts are required:

• (1) Inner side frame, left
• (2) Shaped part, B-pillar outer left (not shown)
• (3) Shaped part, C-pillar, outer left (not shown)

Removal of the outer wheel arch section with reinforcement 

LOOSEN  spot-welded adhesive joints in area (1).

Open welded connections in area (2).

Remove cavity sealing (3).

View from below:

Mark severance cut in accordance with dimension and cut.

Dimension "a" = 25 mm from radius of outer wheel arch section.

Mark severance cut (1) as pictured and cut.

Remove cavity sealing (2).

Open welded connections in areas (3).

Remove outer wheel arch section with reinforcement.

New part preparation 

Mark severance cut (1) in accordance with severance cut on vehicle and cut.

Prepare REINFORCEMENT PLATE  at severance cut (1).

Mark severance cut (2) in radius and cut.

Install new part in area of severance cut (2).

Open welded connections in areas (3).

Installation of the outer wheel arch section with reinforcement 

Apply sealant to new CAVITY SEALING .

Install new parts and reinforcement plate and weld in place.
