33 17 004 Replacing all rubber mounts for rear axle final drive mounting at front (640i, 640i xDrive, 650i, 650xi)

Special tools required:

IMPORTANT: To ensure that the rubber mounts of the rear axle differential are securely seated, observe a waiting period of 2 h after pressing in the rubber mounts or before taking the first journey.
Failure to comply with this requirement may cause the rubber mounts to drift in the rear axle support!

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove REAR AXLE FINAL DRIVE .

Pull out rubber mount with special tools 33 0 026 , 33 0 027 , 33 0 022 and 33 0 021 .

NOTE: Use ratchet ring spanner 33 5 105 .

IMPORTANT: Coat bearing bushing in rear axle carrier and rubber mount (1) with Circo Light.

Align rubber mount (1) by means of notch (2).

Protrusion (3) points to rear final drive unit.

Insert rubber mount (1) in special tool 33 0 025 .

Pull on rubber mount (1) with special tools 33 0 026 , 33 0 027 , 33 0 024 and 33 0 023 as far as it will go.

NOTE: Use ratchet ring spanner 33 5 105 .
