31 21 180 Replacing bearings (wheel hub) for front wheel

IMPORTANT:
There are/will be wheel bearings installed with a thread pitch of 1.5 mm or 1.25 mm (screw connection of wheel bearing on swivel bearing):
- Make sure the allocation of the wheel bearing/screws is correct!
If applicable, check the thread pitch with a thread gauge.
- Make sure that the torque allocation of the wheel bearing on the swivel bearing is correct!
Necessary preliminary work:
- Remove brake disc . See 34 11 220 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING BOTH FRONT BRAKE DISCS (M6) or 34 11 220 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING BOTH FRONT BRAKE DISCS .
NOTE:
- Check brake pads and renew if necessary. See 34 11 000 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/RENEWING BRAKE PADS ON BOTH FRONT DISC BRAKES or 34 11 000 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING BRAKE PADS ON BOTH FRONT DISC BRAKES (M6) .
Slacken nut (1).
Tightening torque 31 12 2AZ .
Remove trailing link (2) from swivel bearing (3).
Release screws (1) and remove mount.
Tightening torque 31 21 1AZ .
Installation note:
Replace screws.
Keep threaded holes (1) clean and free from grease.
Keep contact surface (2) of wheel bearing and swivel bearing clean and free from grease.
