Procedure steps

SPECIAL TOOLS AND TIGHTENING TORQUES: 

For additional information on special tools and tightening torques pertaining to this procedure, refer to the following:

• OVERVIEW OF TIGHTENING TORQUES 

PRE-PROCESSES: 

1. Reading out the fault memory 
   • Connect diagnosis system.

     Check 

   • Read out fault memory.

   Result 

   » Fault code entry present.

   Measure 

   • Delete the fault memory, if applicable, run ABL.
2. Removing the acoustic cover 
   • Raise acoustic cover (1).
   • Remove acoustic cover (1) in the direction of travel.

   KEY PROCESSES: 

3. Removing hot film air mass meters on the left and right 

   Prerequisite 

   Switch off ignition.

   NOTE: Description is for left component only. Procedure on the right side is identical.
   • Unlock connector (1) and remove.
   • Loosen screws (2).
   • Pull hot film air mass meter (3) out of upper section of intake silencer housing.

4. Installing hot film air mass meter on the left and right 
   NOTE: Description is for left component only. Procedure on the right side is identical.
   • Install new gasket on hot film air mass meter (3).
   • Install hot film air mass meter (3) in upper section of the intake silencer housing.
   • Tighten down screws (2).
     TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION
     
     

     Hot film air mass meter to upper section of intake silencer housing
     	3, 5 Nm

   • Connect connector (1).

   POST PROCESSES: 

5. Install acoustic cover 
   • Insert acoustic cover (1) into existing rubber guides.
