12 51 303 Removing and installing/replacing engine wiring harness section, sensor system module cylinder 5-8 (N63)

IMPORTANT:
Screw back on all screw points of cable channels without fail! Some screw points are also ground points.
If the wiring harnesses are not correctly screwed tight and secured, this may cause DME malfunction and failure!

Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Read out the fault memory of the DME control unit.
- Switch off ignition.
- Remove left INTAKE PLENUM .
Overview of wiring harness section, sensor system module cylinder 5-8.
Slacken nut (1).
Tightening torque 12 51 2AZ .
Remove ground cable.
IMPORTANT:
If the nut (1) is released, the ground pin (double pin) underneath must
be retightened!
Retighten ground pin.
Tightening torque 12 51 3AZ .
Retighten ground pin.
Tightening torque 12 51 3AZ .
IMPORTANT:
Screw back on all screw points of cable channels without fail. Some screw points are also ground points.
| Unlock and disconnect following connectors and lines | |
| Unlock connector on left intake camshaft pulse sensor and pull off | |
| Unlock connector on left exhaust camshaft pulse sensor and pull off | |
| Unlock connector on left hot film air mass meter and pull off | |
| Unlock connector on left high pressure pump and pull off | |
| Unlock connector on left control sensor and pull off | |
| Unlock connector of left monitoring sensor and pull off | |
| Unlock connector on left high-pressure fuel sensor and pull off | |
| Unlock connector on left intake air pressure sensor and pull off | |
| Unlock connector on left knock sensors and pull off | |
| Unlock connector of left charging pressure sensor and pull off | |
| Unlock connector on left throttle body and pull off | |
| Unlock connector on solenoid valves camshaft adjustment, left and pull off | |
| Unlock connector on the exhaust turbochargers and disconnect | |
| Unlock connector on alternator and disconnect | |
| Unlock plug on left inlet camshaft pulse generator and disconnect | |
| Unlock plug on left exhaust camshaft pulse generator and disconnect |
Release wiring harness if necessary from existing clips and clamps.
Feed out wiring harness and remove.
Installation note:
Check wiring harness installation arrangement.
Check plug connections for correct fit.
Check stored fault message.
Clear diagnostic fault entries from fault memory.
