12 51 302 Removing and installing/replacing engine wiring harness section, sensor system module cylinder 1-4 (N63)

IMPORTANT: Read and comply with notes on PROTECTION AGAINST ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE (ESD PROTECTION) .
IMPORTANT: Screw back on all screw points of cable channels without fail! Some screw points are also ground points. 
If the wiring harnesses are not correctly screwed tight and secured, this may cause DME malfunction and failure!

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

Overview of wiring harness section, sensor system module cylinder 1-4.

Slacken nut (1).

Tightening torque 12 51 2AZ .

Remove ground cable.

IMPORTANT: If the nut (1) is released, the ground pin (double pin) underneath must  be retightened!
Retighten ground pin.
Tightening torque 12 51 3AZ .

Unlock and disconnect following connectors and lines   
Unlock connector on crankshaft sensor and disconnect  
Unlock connector on oil pressure sensor and disconnect  
Unlock plug on right inlet camshaft pulse generator and disconnect  
Unlock plug on right exhaust camshaft pulse generator and disconnect  
Unlock connector on starter motor and disconnect  
Unlock connector on oil level sensor and disconnect  
Unlock connector on left and right hot film air mass meter and remove  
Unlock connector on right high pressure pump and pull off  
Unlock connector on right control sensor and pull off  
Unlock connector of right monitoring sensor and pull off  
Unlock connector on right high-pressure fuel sensor and pull off  
Unlock connector on right intake air pressure sensor and pull off  
Unlock connector on air conditioning compressor and disconnect  
Unlock connector on right knock sensors and pull off  
Unlock connector on right charging pressure sensor and pull off  
Unlock plug on coolant temperature sensor to coolant pump and disconnect  
Unlock connector on coolant thermostat and disconnect  
Unlock plug on pressure transducers and disconnect  
Unlock plug on left and right throttle valve assemblies and disconnect  
Unlock connector on solenoid valves camshaft adjustment, right and pull off  
Unlock plug on turbocharger coolant pump and disconnect  
Unlock connector on alternator and disconnect  
Unlock plug on coolant pump for charge air cooler and disconnect  

Release wiring harness if necessary from existing clips and clamps.

Feed out wiring harness and remove.

Installation note: 

Check wiring harness installation arrangement.

Check plug connections for correct fit.

Check stored fault message.

Clear diagnostic fault entries from fault memory.
