51 13 280 Removing and installing/replacing trim strip on roof frame at left or right: Notes

Special tools required: 

Starting from the rear, use special tool 00 9 321 to remove trim strip (1) from clips (2).

Installation note: 

Replace faulty clips (1 to 3).

IMPORTANT: Different clips (1 to 3) can be installed.
Version without tilt sunroof: 
Clips (1 to 3) are white.
Version with tilt sunroof: 
  1. Clips, grey
  2. Red clip
  3. Clips, white

    In rear area two white clips (3)

Emergency strategy if T-bolt is broken: 

Refer to REPAIRING CLIPS FOR ROOF STRIP .

Installation note: 

Following parts of trim strip must not be damaged or missing:

  1. Front end cap
  2. Rear end cap
  3. Gasket

Installation note: 

Trim strip (1) must be flush with roof outer skin at front and rear.
