51 49 000 Removing and installing or replacing trim for rear lid

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove TAILGATE SWITCH
Remove LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT LIGHT (on tailgate)

Remove warning triangle (1) from bracket.

Release screws (2) and remove warning triangle holder.

If necessary, detach Bowden cable from emergency release (2).

Loosen expanding rivet.

If necessary, feed out Bowden cable from emergency release (2).

Remove trim panel (2).

Installation note:

Replace faulty expanding rivets.
