52 16 054 Removing and installing/replacing adjustment unit for backrest width adjustment on left or right front seat

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove backrest cover for front seat. See BACKREST COVER FOR DRIVER'S SEAT or BACKREST COVER FOR FRONT PASSENGER SEAT .

Cut open cable strap (1).

Disconnect plug connection (2) on drive.

Installation note:

Lay cables without kinks.

Replace cable tie (1).

Release rivets (1) for drive.

Remove inner electric motor from backrest frame.

Release rivets on left and right and remove adjusting elements.

Remove complete adjustment unit.

NOTE: Adjusting element, cables and drive form a single unit and can only be replaced completely.
