67 31 570 Removing and installing/replacing drive unit for head restraint height adjustment on left or right front seat

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove crash-active headrest. See 52 14 392 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING FRONT LEFT OR RIGHT CRASH-ACTIVE HEADREST .
Remove backrest cover. See 52 14 408 REPLACING BACKREST COVER FOR FRONT PASSENGER SEAT (NORMAL/ELECTRICAL) ; 52 16 407 REPLACING BACKREST COVER (SPORT) FOR DRIVER'S SEAT or 52 14 001 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT SEAT, DRIVER'S SIDE (NORMAL/ELECTRIC) in the head restraint area

Disconnect plug connection (1).

Unfasten screws (2).

Tightening torque, see DRIVE, SEAT ADJUSTMENT .

Feed out drive unit for head restraint height adjustment (3) in direction of arrow and remove.

Carry out FUNCTION CHECK WITH ADAPTER CABLE
INITIALIZE drive unit for head restraint height adjustment.
