52 16 054 Removing and installing/replacing adjusting unit for backrest width adjustment on left or right front seat

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove backrest cover for front seat. See 52 14 407 REPLACING BACKREST COVER FOR DRIVER'S SEAT (NORMAL/ELECTRIC) , 52 14 408 REPLACING BACKREST COVER FOR FRONT PASSENGER SEAT (NORMAL/ELECTRICAL) , 52 16 407 REPLACING BACKREST COVER (SPORT) FOR DRIVER'S SEAT or 52 16 408 REPLACING BACKREST COVER (SPORT) FOR FRONT PASSENGER SEAT .

Cut open cable strap (1).

Disconnect plug connection (2) on drive.

Installation note:

Lay cables without kinks.

Replace cable tie (1).

Release rivets (1) for drive.

Remove inner electric motor from backrest frame.

Release rivets on left and right and remove adjusting elements.

Remove complete adjusting unit.

NOTE: Adjusting element, cables and drive form a single unit and can only be replaced completely.
