54 34... Retrofitting fin filler pieces

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove SOFT TOP COVER .

Cover vehicle in working area.

Move soft top into closed position. Rear fins taken off.

All required parts are contained in the repair kit for fin filler piece .

Part Number 54 34 7 345 135

The following operations refer to both fin sides. The description is only given for the left side.

Position filler piece (1) on fin (2).

Inner edge of filler piece must be flush with fin back (3). A ruler, for instance, can be used as auxiliary materials.
Filler piece must be pushed up to start if radius (4) of fin back.

Transfer drilled holes (1) from filler piece to fin.

Drill transferred holes (1) on fin.

Diameter: 3, 3 mm

Deburr bore holes (1).

IMPORTANT: Completely remove swarf.

Secure filler piece (2) (1) to fin (3) with 2 rivets.

IMPORTANT: Rivet heads must fit in recess of filler piece.
Make sure there are no parts protruding from rivet. Rivet shank must be completely torn off.
