54 34 442 Replacing angle-of-rotation sensor on main bearing

Open convertible top compartment lid until all hydraulic cylinders are completely extended.

Support soft top compartment lid in SERVICE POSITION

Detach cable strap.

Installation note:

Replace faulty cable straps.

Disconnect plug connection (1).

Release screw (2).

Tightening torque 54 34 03AZ .

Remove angle-of-rotation sensor (3).

Teach-in soft top:

Close soft top.
Only in vehicles built before 09/2011: Briefly release the lock button (< 5 seconds).
Operate closing button for 30 seconds (until LED flashes - LED flashes to indicate that the teach-in procedure is complete)
Release closing button.
