54 34 341 Removing and installing/replacing left or right roof frame gasket

Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Partially open soft top until the working area is accessible
WARNING:
Soft top becomes pressureless without a warning signal.
For all repair work, secure soft top with a suitable support tool against collapsing.
Ensure soft top is supported in the middle.
Ignition must remain switched off during the repair work.
Failure to comply with this instruction may result in the hydraulic valves incurring preliminary damage.

Undo window guide (1) from the sealing carrier (center of roof frame).
Installation note:
Make sure seal (2) is correctly seated on seal carrier (1).
Spray sealing carrier (1) with assembly fluid.
Installation note:
The cowl panel gasket (1) must be aligned with the roof frame gasket (2) in the retraction area of the side window.
Distance between the gaskets = 0.5 mm.
Side windows must enter the window guide correctly and rest on the window guide across their entire width.
Run a function check.
Check and adjust (if applicable) the setting of the side windows. See 51 32 154 ADJUSTING LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT SIDE WINDOW and 51 37 154 ADJUSTING REAR LEFT OR RIGHT SIDE WINDOW .
