61 31 231 Removing and installing/renewing steering wheel module control unit

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove airbag unit See 32 34 030 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING AIRBAG UNIT (SPORT STEERING WHEEL) or 32 34 020 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING AIRBAG UNIT

NOTE: Steering wheel cover is shown removed for purposes of clarity.

Remove control unit for steering wheel module (1) from steering wheel (2) in direction of arrow.

Disconnect plug connection (1).

Remove steering wheel electronics control unit (2).

Installation note:

Make sure electronic steering wheel module (2) is fitted correctly.
