51 16 041 Removing and refitting/replacing protective cap on left or right exterior mirror (without surround view) (to 07/13)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove MIRROR GLASS

Insert the screwdriver (1) on the outside of the latch mechanism.

Place the screwdriver (1) on the bridge (2) and press in direction of arrow. This will release the stop for latch mechanisms (3).

Pull the protective cap evenly to the outside.

Installation note:

Latch mechanisms (1) and guide (2) on housing (3) must not be damaged or missing.
