33 52 100 Removing and installing rear left or right spring strut (528i, 528xi, 528i xDrive, 535d, 535d xDrive, 535i, 535xi, 535i xDrive, 550i, 550xi, 550i xDrive)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove REAR WHEEL .
REMOVE SPEAKER .

Fold sound insulation (1) upwards.

Unscrew nuts (2).

Tightening torque 33 52 1AZ .

Installation note:

Replace nuts.

Slacken nut (1).

Partially fold up wheel arch panel (2).

Installation note:

Replace nut if necessary.

Release screw (1).

Tightening torque 33 52 3AZ

Remove spring strut from wheel carrier.

Installation note:

Replace screw.

Press wheel carrier downwards.

Remove spring strut towards rear/downwards.

IMPORTANT: Before tightening screw connection, check that spring strut shock absorber pin is correctly positioned in wheel carrier.
