18 10... Replacing chrome panel (M62): Procedure

Remove rear muffler. See 18 10 031 REPLACING REAR MUFFLER (M62, M54) .

Open weld seams (1).

Open welding spots.

Pull off chrome panel (2).

Installation:

Push chrome panel onto rear muffler.

Spacing (A) to edge of rear muffler must be 1-2 mm all round.

Chrome panel must be welded at four points to a length (B) of approx. 25 mm.

Apply plug welding spots to arrowed points.

Apply corrosion protection to welding points.
