41 34 060 Replacing Complete Tail Panel Stripping-Down Operations

WARNING: The following points must be strictly observed prior to starting work :

DE-ENERGIZE THE HIGH-VOLTAGE SYSTEM
Observe SAFETY INFORMATION for handling with hybrid cars

NOTE: Owing to the different engine variants and equipment specifications, not all the components are taken into consideration.
The following list basically represents the removal sequence.

Remove battery
Remove bumper trim
Remove bumper support
Remove center guide
Remove luggage compartment floor trim panel
Remove lashing rail in luggage compartment floor on left and right
Remove luggage compartment storage compartment
Remove tail panel cover at top
Remove tailgate lock
Remove left luggage compartment wheel arch panel
Remove right luggage compartment wheel arch panel
Partially detach tailgate seal

Slacken nut (1).

Remove ground support point.

Unclamp wiring harness (2) from clamps and lay towards front.

Slacken nut (1).

Remove ground support point.

Unclamp wiring harness (2) from tail panel and lay towards front.

Release nuts (3) and lay control unit (4) towards front.

Release nuts (1) and screws (2).

Lay power distribution box (3) towards front.
