51 13 305 Removing and installing/replacing left or right rail

Special tools required: 

• 00 9 340

Installation note: 

• Microencapsulated screws (Loctite) must be replaced and may not be reused
• Screw connection must be completed within 20 minutes (start of curing)
• Microencapsulated screws must not be retightened
• Clean thread of nut beforehand in event of repeated use

Front protective cap: 

Slide special tool 00 9 340 centrally under front protective cap (1) and release latch mechanism.

Slide protective cap (1) forwards with a suitable tool.

Installation note: 

Guides (1) and latch mechanisms (2) must not be damaged. If damaged, replace protective cap.

Rear protective cap: 

Slide special tool 00 9 340 under rear protective cap (1) (note position in accordance with image) and release latch mechanism.

Slide protective cap (1) back with a suitable tool.

Release screws (2) on rail (3).

Remove rail (3).

Standard Torx screw is only supplied if expressly ordered.

Installation note: 

Replace screws (2) after each dismantling.

Tighten down screws to tightening torque 51 13 3AZ .

Clean contact surfaces and seal (2) before installation, check for damage, replace if necessary.
