51 64 020 Removing and installing (replacing) top left connection (cross-strut) (E72)

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Follow INSTRUCTIONS FOR WORKING on cooling system
• Remove COVER FOR ELECTRONICS BOX POWER MODULE
• Remove POWER MODULE (APM)
• Remove intake port

Disconnect clips at position (1). Pull off coolant hose (2) at position (3) from expansion tank (4) and lay to one side.

Disconnect Bowden at position (2).

Disconnect air conditioner cable at position (3). Release screws (4).

Tightening torque: 51 71 4AZ

Lift holder (5) slightly and feed out cross-strut (1) in direction of arrow.

Replacement: 

Modify APM holder (1) on new replacement cross-strut (3).

Tightening torque: 51 71 7AZ

Modify both holders (2) for new air conditioning cable (2) on new replacement cross-strut (3).

Tightening torque: 51 71 8AZ
