31 51 020 Replacing shaft seal for right output shaft

Special tools required:

31 4 160

Necessary preliminary tasks:

REMOVE right output shaft.

Lever shaft seal (1) out of bearing support with a screwdriver (2).

Install radial shaft seal

NOTE: The installation protective ring (1) serves to protect the sealing lips of the radial shaft seal (2) when the output shaft is being installed.

IMPORTANT: Installation protective ring must not slip out of shaft seal!

Drive in shaft seal with special tool 31 4 160 up to limit position.

Carefully remove special tool 31 4 160 .

Open installation protective ring (1).

After installation:

Check FRONT AXLE DIFFERENTIAL OIL LEVEL , correct if necessary
