11 28 018 Removing and installing/replacing water pump drive belt (N63 hybrid)

WARNING: High-voltage system - danger to life!

WARNING: The following points must be strictly observed prior to starting work:

Disconnect HIGH-VOLTAGE SYSTEM from power
Observe SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS for working with hybrid vehicles.

IMPORTANT: Risk of damage!
Release screws (1) on vibration damper only if removal position is adjusted.

Installation:

If the drive belt is to be reused, mark direction of travel and reinstall drive belt in same direction of rotation.

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove FAN COWL

NOTE: Observe direction of engine rotation.

Crank engine at central bolt (1) until marking (see arrow in illustration) is reached on vibration damper.

Unfasten screws (2).

Tightening torque 11 28 2AZ .

IMPORTANT: Belt pulley is pretensioned.
Belt pulley tension is relieved abruptly during the cranking process!

NOTE: Observe direction of engine rotation.

Crank engine at central bolt until marking (see arrow in illustration) is reached on vibration damper.

Remove elastomeric belt (1).

Installation:

Installation in reverse sequence.

Assemble engine.
