11 00 598 Check the loss of pressure for all cylinders E72 (N63)

Special tools required:

2 302 630

WARNING: High-voltage system - danger to life!

WARNING: The following points must be strictly observed prior to starting work:

Disconnect HIGH-VOLTAGE SYSTEM FROM POWER
Observe SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS for handling with hybrid cars

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove SPARK PLUGS .

Prepare the pressure hose (1) with number 60.

Hand-tighten the pressure hose (1) in the cylinder to be measured.

Connect the OT finder (1) to the pressure hose.

Turn the engine at the central bolt until the OT finder (1) extends up with the piston (2) and displays the OT point.

If necessary, block the crankshaft mechanically.

The measuring device (2) must be adjusted prior to the loss of pressure check (note manufacturer information).

Connect the measuring device 2 302 630 to the pressure hose (3).

Connect the compressed air hose (1) to the measuring device (2).

Loss of pressure values below 22 % must be viewed as I/O. values.

When the loss of pressure exceeds 22 %:

Determine possible fault causes, piston ring leaks (crankcase ventilation) and also intake valves (intake port) and exhaust valves (exhaust system).
