61 12 013 Replacing negative battery lead

Follow instructions for DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING BATTERY .

IMPORTANT:
Do not under any circumstances pull or lever off intelligent battery sensor (IBS) by force.
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove BATTERY COVER
Slacken nut (1) and pull intelligent battery sensor (IBS) from battery. Tightening torque 61 21 1AZ .
Disconnect plug connection (2).
If necessary, detach cable strap for battery negative lead from positive battery cable.
Release nut (3) and disconnect battery negative lead. Tightening torque 61 12 5AZ .
