11 62 065 Removing and installing/replacing right exhaust manifold (M62/N62)

Cylinder Bank 1 To 4

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove exhaust system.
Remove reinforcement plate.
Remove propeller shaft.

NOTE: Illustration with engine (M62) removed.

Release screw connection at exhaust manifold.

Feed out exhaust manifold towards bottom.

Installation:

Replace seals.

Seal beads faces the exhaust manifold.

Coat thread with copper paste -CRC-.

Replace nuts.

Tightening torque, see 11 62 1AZ in ENGINE - TIGHTENING TORQUES - X5 4.6L .

Assemble engine.

Check exhaust system for leaks.
