54 10 025 Replacing the gate for the slide/tilt sunroof at the front left and right

When removing and installing the gate for the front slide/tilt sunroof, also note the interactive 3-D instructions. It does not replace but enhance the applicable repair instructions. Press the individual point for animation display of the corresponding operations.

• 3-D ANIMATION OF GLASS SLIDE/TILT SUNROOF COVER MECHANISM (STEP 4 TO 6 AND 27 TO 30) 

Necessary preliminary tasks 

• Remove GLASS SLIDE/TILT SUNROOF COVER AT FRONT .
• Open slide/tilt sunroof.

Bend open clamps of retaining rail (1) with suitable tool (2).

Lift retaining rail (1) in direction of arrow.

Lift guide (1) of gate with suitable tool (2) in direction (A) and push in direction (B).

Press gate (1) out of guide in direction (A) and lift in direction (B).

Installation note: 

Observe GREASE INSTRUCTIONS  for replacement parts.

Ensure that lugs (1) are parallel to gate (2).

Clamps (1) of retaining rail must be bent again.
