51 47 151 Removing and installing/replacing left luggage compartment wheel arch trim

Necessary preliminary tasks:  

• Remove left storage compartment .

E70 only: 

• Remove left backrest side section .

With E70 (Security, Security-Plus) only: 

• Remove left backrest side section.

In E71/72 only: 

• Remove left C-pillar cover.

Press latch mechanisms (1) together from inside and feed out cover (2).

Release clamps (1).

Feed out luggage compartment wheel arch panel (2).

E70 Security Plus (SA109) only: 

Release clip (1).

Feed out luggage compartment wheel arch panel (2).

If replacing with storage compartment package version:  

Remove multifunction hook (1).

Remove tensioning strap (2).

Note:  

Apertures for multifunction hook (1) and tensioning strap (2) must be cut out from luggage compartment wheel arch panel.

Saw out openings with an oscillating saw and a straight blade on the molding.

E70 Security Plus (SA109) only: 

Wheel arch panel must also be adapted.

Make cut-outs with a jigsaw and a straight blade as follows:

1. 132 mm
2. 11 mm
3. 37 mm
4. 44 mm
