41 00... Position Of Shaped Parts For Cavity Sealing

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 18 other vehicles, including the 2015 BMW Alpina B7L xDrive, 2015 BMW Alpina B7 xDrive, 2015 BMW 750i xDrive, 2015 BMW 750Li xDrive, and 2015 BMW 740Li xDrive. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Cavity sealing is carried out in specific body areas in order to reduce interior noise and to reduce condensation. To do this, shaped parts are inserted in the cavities. These shaped parts adapt themselves optimally due to heating of the body to approx. 180 °C by expansion to the shape of the cavities.

Because it is not possible to heat the body to this extent for a body repair, a different procedure has been specified for this situation. See INSTALLING A CAVITY ACOUSTIC BAFFLE (EXPANDED) , INSTALLING A CAVITY ACOUSTIC BAFFLE (NOT EXPANDED) , and INSTALLING A CAVITY SEALING WITH 2-COMPONENT PU CAVITY FOAM .
