51 43 201 Removing and installing/replacing trim panel for roof pillar at front left or right (A-pillar)

Special tools required: 

WARNING: Follow SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS  for working on vehicles with airbag systems.
IMPORTANT: Do not use any sharp-edged tools to remove trim panel (risk of damage to head airbag).

When working on trim panel components, make sure that the sensitive surfaces are not scratched or damaged.

Unclip and remove sealing cap (1) using special tool 00 9 340 .

Release screw (1).

Tightening torque 51 43 1AZ .

Unclip trim panel (2) in direction of arrow.

Feed out trim panel (2) from dashboard and remove.

Installation note: 

If necessary, replace faulty clips (1).

If necessary, lever out clips (1) remaining in bore hole and fit to trim panel (2).

Clip trim panel (2) with latch mechanism (3) into dashboard.

Position trim panel (2) on associated bore holes of clips (1) and clip into place.
