52 24 400 Replacing seat cover for rear seat

Special Tools Required:

52 0 050

Necessary Preliminary Tasks:

Remove seat frame. Refer to 52 24 037 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING SEAT FRAME .

Detaching cover and padding:

If necessary, mark seating of retainers.
Release retainers in marked areas.
Remove seat cover from padding.
Remove all remaining retainers from seat cover and/or padding.

Installation:

Feed cable through hole in padding.
Insert new retainers with special tool 52 0 050. In so doing, enclose wire in padding and trim wire of cover.

Replacing cover:

Pull all trim wires out of seat cover.
If necessary, cut in take-up for trim wires of new cover.
Push trim wires into new seat cover.
