51 41 019 Removing and installing/replacing door handle on door trim panel, front left or right

Necessary Preliminary Tasks: 

• Remove front door trim panel. Refer to 51 41 000 REMOVING AND INSTALLING LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT DOOR TRIM PANEL .

Unscrew nuts (1).

Tightening torque, refer to 51 41 5AZ in BODY EQUIPMENT - TIGHTENING TORQUES - 545I (4.4L) E60 .

Unscrew nuts (2).

Lever inside handle (1)

1. Out of upper screw fastening points,
2. And pull off upwards from door trim panel (2).

Installation: 

Screws (1) and fixtures of inside handle (2) must not be damaged.

Replacement: 

Feed inside handle (1) in direction of arrow out of decorative strip (2) and remove.

Installation: 

Catches (1) on decorative strip (2) must not be damaged.
