Necessary preliminary tasks

If necessary, lever out cover caps and release nuts (1).

Tightening torque 51 13 3AZ . See 5144002 REMOVING AND INSTALLING ROOFLINER (ON VERSION WITHOUT PANORAMA SUNROOF)  or 5144013 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING ROOFLINER (ON VERSION WITH PANORAMA SUNROOF) .

Remove rail (1) in direction of arrow.

Installation note: 

Seals (1 and 2) on railing (3) must not be damaged.
