51 71 348 Removing and installing/replacing suspension crossbrace mounting

IMPORTANT: Driving without the suspension cross-brace is not permitted. (Risk of damage to the body).
Screws of suspension cross-brace and crossbrace mounting must be tightened to torque and then tightened down with special tool 00 9 120 .

Necessary preliminary tasks 

NOTE: Air manifold is shown removed for purposes of clarity.

Release mucket in covered area.

Release screws (1 and 2).

Remove suspension cross-brace mounting with middle heater bulkhead (3).

Installation: 

Replace screw (1).

Tighten down screw (1) to torque and then to angle of rotation using special tool 00 9 120.

Tightening torque 51 71 17AZ .

Replacement 

If necessary, release suspension crossbrace grommets (4)

Installation: 

Replace studs (1).
