Necessary preliminary tasks

Unscrew and remove splash guard.
Remove reinforcement plate. See 31 10 010 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING REINFORCEMENT PLATE .

Remove heat shields
Drain. See 00 11 230 CHANGING/SUPPLEMENT TRANSMISSION OIL IN MANUAL TRANSMISSION (GS7S47 SMG) .

Disconnect connector (1).

Release union nut (1).

Tightening torque 23 41 19AZ .

Remove oil cooler connection (2).

Tightening torque 23 41 20AZ .

Release banjo bolt (1).

Installation:

Replace banjo bolt with seal.

Tightening torque 23 41 18AZ .

Release screw (1). Remove gear oil cooler in direction of arrow.

Tightening torque 23 41 16AZ .

Installation:

Journal (1) on gear oil cooler must be secured in rubber grommet (2).
