61 61 010 Checking/adjusting approach angle of windshield wiper arms on front windscreen

Special tools required: 

NOTE: Wiping quality is increased if the approach angle of the windshield wiper arms is precisely adjusted.

Before checking approach angle, briefly lift windshield wiper arms off windshield.

Set special tool 00 9 331 in rest position next to pivot point of wiper blade on windshield.

CAUTION: Before adjustment, mask off wiper arm in area of special tools 00 9 221 and 00 9 222 with adhesive tape.

Before adjustment, move wiper arms into vertical position.

Approach angle too large (light gap at top between gauge and wiper blade):

Grip wiper arm with special tool 00 9 222 and turn with special tool 00 9 221 in direction of arrow.

Approach angle too small (light gap at bottom between gauge and wiper blade):

Grip wiper arm with special tool 00 9 222 and turn with special tool 00 9 221 in direction of arrow.
