61 31 022 Removing and installing steering lock/ignition starter switch

Disconnect negative lead from body and cover. Refer to 12 00 ... Instructions for disconnecting and connecting battery .

Remove air duct for footwell on left. Refer to 64 11 825 REPLACING SERVODRIVE OF RECIRCULATED AIR FLAPS .

NOTE: Secure steering lock/ignition starter switch (4) against falling out.

Unlock plug connection (1) and disconnect.

Disconnect plug connection (2).

Release screws (3).

Remove steering lock/ignition starter switch (4).

Installation:

Feed pin (1) into hole for steering lock/ignition starter switch (2).
